All students will have an initial assessment by an Educational Psychologist on entry to the school. We arrange this for you at no cost.

Criteria for entry - Broadmeadows Special Developmental School is a Victorian Government school for students aged between 5 and 18 years with an intellectual disability in the moderate to profound range.  To be eligible to attend Broadmeadows SDS a student must have a formal diagnosis of Intellectual Disability. This does not preclude other disabilities and/or disorders such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder or sensory impairments.

Step 2 - School Tour

A tour of the school is a valuable step in determining the right school for your child. We are happy to arrange these for parents and students once we have all inquiry forms completed.

School Zoning and Bus information

Please get in contact with the school via 09 9302 1244 or email broadmeadows.sds@education.vic.gov.au for more information about or DTA.

To access the school bus service, you must live in this zone. If you live outside of the designated transport zone ,please get in touch and ask if you qualify for additional eligibility status. Alternatively please visit findmyschool.vic.gov.au

Please be aware that:

  • Bus seats are prioritised for those that live more than 4.8kms from the school. For those living less that 4.8km, a conditional seat will be allocation only if a seat is available.

  • A student must be enrolled for a minimum of 3 days to be eligible for the Bus service.

  • Students will be provided with a designated pick-up point. These will usually be on main roads and PTV bus stops rather than parking in front of houses.

  • If you move during your child’s schooling, you must apply for a new seat on the bus. Seat availability and nearest pick up point will be given upon application if seats are available on that route. In case of unavailability of a seat, you may choose to opt for conveyance allowance and take full responsibility for transportation to and from school, or be placed on a waiting list.
