Teachers in consultation with parents, caregivers, therapists and school support personnel devise individual education programs. School staff place a high priority on communication and work with parents and carers to plan individual programs based on the student’s abilities, strengths, and interests.
Programs are developed to address the Victorian Essential Learning Standards Domains including English/Communication, Interpersonal Development, Personal Learning, Civics and Citizenship, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Health and Physical Education, and The Arts.
Therapy programs including:
Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dance Therapy, Horticulture and Music Therapy will also be incorporated in individual educational plans.
The emphasis taken will relate directly to the student’s needs and this may result in priority given to specific areas such as communication, computer skills, personal management and community awareness.
Provision within the school curriculum has been made to accommodate students requiring assistance in specific areas such as toilet training, communication skills, medical assistance and behaviour management.
